About Us

The idea for the BullDog 762 came to Sgt. Richard Cabral, the company founder, while he was in Iraq in 2006. Sgt. Cabral observed how ineffective the smaller 5.56mm round of the M16 was against the enemy hiding in and around structures. Sgt. Cabral also observed a soldier with a standard M14 getting in and out of a Humvee with difficulty due to the length of the rifle.

Sgt. Cabral was very familiar with the M14 from his time served as a soldier in Vietnam. The reliability of the M14 is legendary. Add in the pinpoint accuracy out to 800 meters and the impact of the larger 7.62mm round and you have what he believes is the best rifle ever made. Sgt. Cabral dreamed that a short M14 would be the perfect rifle for the soldier.

The Bulldog 762 is the result of several years of development. The team includes a firearm expert and master marksman, meticulous engineering, and quality U.S. machining know-how. Added to this mix was some extensive feedback from highly trained Special Forces (boy are these guys picky) in the battlefield. Use the highest grade of aircraft quality aluminum (6061) machined to precise specifications, keep improving it until everybody is satisfied – the end result – The Bulldog 762!
